interesting, people who favor season 1 tend to prefer the comfy lighter tone before the spokon starts to kick in for the franchise stories so I'm not sure if I see many who like seasons 1 and 2 at a similar level

They're different but both are good enough to reach the same peak level imo, S1 with the overall comfy vibe and S2 with Teio's miracle story.
