The realistic possibility to find out what's going on with this thing in my lifetime makes me so happy.

I have a feeling that Zhang will be the main antagonistic prince besides Tserri when shit (the Ship) is going down and most passenger want him to be king when the power of the coins are revealed.
I just don't think that the war will be contained in the first tier, the whole ship will fall into a civil war with various princes fighting for the devotion of the people with their abilities (besides Zhang I think Luzurus and Tyson will fall into this camp).

Your idea of the general passengers all being drawn to one of the princes with a manipulative sort of ability is a good one, but I find it hard to see it happening. I think the mafia/soldiers/Troupe going wild will end up involving the citizens (more than it already is)

Zhang and Luzurus not being in their room in 410 is maybe an indicator that they fleed to the mafia they benefit. From there on it is certainly possible that they start to gather the commonfolks around them.
And for Tyson it could be enough if one copy of her book makes it way down to the lower tiers, but I don't know how.

Not OP but I don't see why not. It's peak shounenspic logic to think this arc is devolving into chaos any time soon. The Zodiacs are on the ship, they need to make it to the Dark Continent and they're not going to let Nen users run around and kill everyone. The Heil-Ly has been able to get away with it so far only because it's been sporadic and the case is mostly under Kakin jurisdiction. Most people on the ship are completely oblivious to any of it, they're still walking around watching movies and taking pictures. If a spider or prince starts mowing people down school shooter style the strongest hunters in the world are going to descend on them and rape them. Every group knows that and they're not playing that game.

Halkenburg has also already rallied civilians to shoot Balsamilco and I doubt that's the end of that.

I could see Togashi never resolving the coins, he's a troll like that.
Zhang might die and his last thoughts will be "I wonder what those coins would've done...".

I’m not sure why not either, despite me being the one saying it. Could be a combination of things. Maybe I don’t think Tyson in particular is going to be the cause of something like that. I might feel that the Prince stuff will only have an indirect influence on the public, and the other parties will be more direct.

It surprised me that Togashi gave Bono in one chapter last batch more character and inner monologue than in the whole Yorknew Arc. Did he just liked Bonos design back then but had no idea yet what to do with him?
I like him now a lot but I'm afraid that he will not survive much longer with Hisoka nearby.

A hundred different things could happen, but what I was imagining is order on the ship breaking down and factions forming across tiers. I'm not sure about specific princes, but Tyson at least has Izunavi watching him and possibly Hisoka. The princes who have died so far have been ones taking it too easy, or in Kacho's case it was a failed escape.

But whenever you ask anons about the future of the arc, they'll say something stupid like everyone's about to run into each other in the next batch and the rest of the arc will be the stronger characters systematically eliminating everyone. I feel like that's probably the absolute simplest and dumbest direction the plot could go in. It's like they haven't read Hunter x Hunter before.

Waiting 180 days to awaken someone nen ability doesn't seem relevant so there must be another use for them
Like Pitou using Dr Blythe immmobility to stop herself from being blown away.
Maybe they use them to track people, or use the fact that the coins resets after being gifted for something.

Morena could be wrong tbf. So I think many specialists are people who didn't start out as specialists and mostly moved from conjurer or manipulator to the specialist category for some reason. I think when Morena had dogman sniff out people he was mostly sniffing people who don't know nen yet and so it's really rare for someone without nen to just naturally have specialist category, but among actual nen users it has to be higher than 1 in 3000.

If her number of specialists is as low and specific as 0.0033%, then she must have a REALLY big sample size.
Bare minimum over 300, and probably even more. And with Dogman, it's not unthinkable that she actually could get such a big sample size of unawakened nen users.
She might be wrong about other things, but I think we can at least trust her when it comes to distribution.

This is probably unintentional, but the GSB abilities make me think of the Ship of State analogy in Plato's Republic.
Despite it being a criticism of democracy rather than monarchy, it still does address the idea that a strong "captain" is not necessarily the person most fit to lead a state, but is the person who is most capable of taking that leadership position.
The fact that some nen beasts are built for the succession war itself and others are built for after the succession war reminds me of that idea.
Zhang Lei would lead Kakin to prosperity if he were the "captain", but he's not strong enough to actually take that position.

That's what I said when the chapter came out. It's hard to believe she met that many Nen users and actually got an idea of what type they are. We've watched two and half years go by, with a better view on things than any one character, and we've seen like 125 characters with confirmed abilities or types, and that's including stolen abilities.

That's sort of a creative trap Togashi put himself in. Vict has the ability Tackle Shield and I'm willing to bet he transmutes his aura into being like a hard shield with a point on it so he can just tackle people safely to fight, because of the name and how they described it as having good offense and defense. But then I sit back and think, "Can't non-Transmuters do that?" Pokkle has only 60% Transmutation but he can shape his aura into lethal flaming arrows. This leaves a lot of questions about what an actual Transmuter can do instead, but when we finally see Transmuters, it's always that their abilities just so happen to be super creative and versatile and only a weirdo like them could make it, or it's so complex you don't even recognize it as Transmutation. Makes it seem like Transmutation sucks and I don't think Togashi has a good response to that.

Are you sure Kurapika wasn't being disingenuous to bait him into passivity? Zhang Lei thinks his GSB works that way, but if you look at the other GSBs, they tend to be kinda' contrary to their prince. Marayam's doesn't act like an oblivious child, it's like an overprotective parent; Momoze's was aggressive and exhausted her, despite she being laid back and carefree; Kacho was hyper focused on getting herself and Fugetsu off the boat, but her GSB literally does nothing until one of them dies; Tyson's a pacifist but his GSB is described as ominous and looking like it's charging up a Spirit Bomb. We got a description fir Zhang Lei's GSB and it said it offers various abilities after various conditions are met - that doesn't sound like it's describing giving someone Nen after holding the coin for years.
