I always feel like people exaggerate stuff like this. Especially with posts like
>>281627040. My main problem with the series is that it basically ignores the main characters for like an entire volume or two. Overall the cast is too large too and despite spending volumes on side characters it still feels like a lot of the cast isn't as fleshed out as they should be. People just seem to dislike drama. And yet I also see people say something is boring because nothing ever happens.

This is nothing like the "the mangaka hated the adaptation". In fact it sounds like she understood that anime adaptations will always going to be different than their source and so accepted them doing whatever they saw fit.

Probably not. I don't recall any of that in Tokimeki Tonight for instance. One of the side character couples in KareKano though are non-blood related but their parents marry iirc. Some people would see problems with that.
