Zoomoid post. I lived through the 80s and 90s. Just because there's a few OVAs that lasted to this day in popularity doesn't mean general quality was good. Animation was filled with still frames and low budget sequences akin to a power point slide in ~70% of cases. Writing was retarded and full of awful tropes, and everything was funded pretty much out of pocket. Anime now has significantly better animation techniques overall even if oldniggers want to seethe about "soul" or the style from an era long past. There's a reason we left those things behind.
