Does /a/ finally admit that anime from literature novels like Shoushimin are better than manga or LN adaptations?

Despite their goal to avoid attention, their extraordinary deductive skills constantly draw them into solving low-stakes, bizarre mysteries that occur around them. Maybe try watching the actual anime instead of just reading the fucking synopsis. There’s a big difference between Apothecary Diaries with its goofy FMAB shounen ass monologues and dialogues since the LN writing is juvenile compared to how dialogue flows in a real novel.

There's nothing wrong with Earthsea, though. It's a great fantasy adventure story for young children and teenagers. Makes sense in the context of an anime/manga/LN comparison since common subgenres from those media are also fantasy and adventure.

A good script is a good tell for solid writing, and shounen/LNs are awful at it. Dialogue needs a good flow and not sound like troupy shounenshit. Even Orb and Apothecary Diaries don't get that right.

Good books always contain fantastical elements like plotting ghosts, or intelligent whales, or impossibly rich crime bosses. "Realistic" stories that only exist to make the audience empathize with mundane characters are for women.

SSY was quite good and I think it nailed something fundamental in the writing by building up to a huge calamity that comes later in the story. Even "good" shounen like AoT fumble that since Isayama didn’t even come up with the Rumbling until S4.

>Desperate energy flowed into Murbella. She responded in the only way she knew: touching, caressing—using all of the techniques she had learned so carefully in the long years of her apprenticeship.
>To each thing she did, Duncan produced a wildly stimulating counter-move.
>Murbella found that she no longer could control all of her own responses. She was reacting automatically from some well of knowledge deeper than her training. She felt her vaginal muscles tighten. She felt the swift release of lubricant fluid. When Duncan entered her she heard herself groan. Her arms, her hands, her legs, her entire body moved with both of the response systems—well-trained automation and the deeper, deeper plunging awareness of other demands.
>How did he do this to me?
>Waves of ecstatic contractions began in the smooth muscles of her pelvis. She sensed his simultaneous response and felt the hard slap of his ejaculation. This heightened her own response. Ecstatic pulsations drove outward from the contractions in her vagina… outward… outward. The ecstasy engulfed her entire sensorium. She saw a spreading blaze of whiteness against her eyelids. Every muscle quivered with an ecstasy she had not imagined possible for herself.
>Heretics of Dune

I love Dune's "deep" narrative. Also love it's "high" concept, emphasis on the "high" that Frank Herbert must have been when he came up with chairdogs.

Still didn’t prove it’s any worse than “mid” in the novel world. At worst it’s just the usual horny writing you’d see from Murakami.

Meanwhile the most “deep” storytelling in manga is just Guts and his one-note perseverance theme repeated for the ten millionth time.

I honestly don't get the hate for Earthsea. The later volumes are pretty bad and it could be some of the hate comes from poorly read /pol/tards who are overreacting about the feminist arcs, or maybe teenagers who were forced to read it at a time you hate anything that's forced down your throat.

It's a very simple story with simple, musical writing that's not too flowery. I read it as a 30yo for the first time and I loved every page of it.

Not much of comparison, but the world would be a more educated place if kids read Earthsea instead of Harry Potter and that little faggot's beaming smile and going out for walks every 10 pages.
