Just comparing those two pages there's a lot of differences that do lower the quality overall- same reason why the JoJo storytimes opted for the official Viz volumes rather than the fan translations. Consistency and quality over names.
The Viz TL here is just more professionally done. What takes the fan scanlation 38 words and 17 lines to accomplish in the middle bottom panel of this page
>>281680019 the Viz TL accomplishes 35 words and 19 lines, rarely having more than ten characters occupying a single line, and with only one wordbreak as opposed to three.
For a single line that doesn't seem like a lot, but it is. The Viz release is the more concise one, and again, there's the matter of consistency- the Conan scanlations are not consistently at the mediocre level, both in general writing, as well as in visual quality. If you're on anything more than a phone, low quality scans with poor/messy cleaning just looks bad and ruins the art. That combined with poor formatting with how the dialogue is presented results in a product that isn't exactly good for reading.

Japanese companies are very weird on branding.
There's a degree of irony to this in that despite being called Case Closed and using names like Jimmy and Rachel, Conan will go on to just use the Japanese names past the point where the dub ended (and didn't even use the Funi name for Ai Haibara ). That's partly why the dub names don't entirely matter, as the only ones that you will consistently see end up being "Moore" and "Meguire", with Anita. being the one that sticks out the most by that point.
You see a similar thing with Dragon Ball- Toei are the ones forcing the usage of names like "Tien", "Spirit Bomb", "Krillin", "Frieza", "Vegito", etc. for the sake of consistent branding, rather than Funimation seeking it out.
