It's pretty good, it loses a lot of the grime of the manga but they did okay. The backgrounds are really good, and the music too.

The CG models are really bad and distracting but I also have very little tolerance for CG in general.

I don't it's philosophical at all. Dorohedoro is a gripping murder mystery/noir about letting go first and foremost. The author actually tells us what the manga is about too, so here it is.
