What do you think about Gen Urobuchi?

He's great but always, always, ALWAYS has an unsatisfying ending

No
It's ALWAYS dragged out and completely unsatisfying. Sometimes even breaks the consistent logic and abandons the conflict by introducing a bigger one

Madoka
It's about Homura's repeating. lol Madoka can change reality

Movie
It's about Homura's rescue. lol Homura can change reality

Godzilla
It's about humans vs Godzilla. lol let's ass pull a new and bigger villain out of nowhere in the middle of the movie and kill humans in a flash.

Never watched the puppets. I doubt I'm missing anything

I was, and the end always ruin it
Gangantia was the only one I've seen that stayed consistent up to the ending

War Guy learning civilian life and learning how dystopian his old world was

skill issue then. Madoka's literally one of the most well-foreshadowed shows

You missed /a/'s greatest bonding experience of the last 8 years (and also just an incredible show in general)

It is, though I never really found anything from TBF to be pompous to any detrimental extent. It's just an incredibly fun ride.

Your understanding of Madoka is yurifag-tier. Seriously rewatch the show and movie and pay attention this time

This and Madoka (the TV series, not the pile of trash called Rebellion) were the only two good things he ever wrote.

reading fate/zero was one of the only light novel experiences that i could handle

why though. it's adapted by a japanese person so it's filled with japanese-isms.
it's like kingdom being well received in china except for the fact that it feels too japanese and misrepresents chinese history

Aside from porn, I really don't get the appeal of LNs when you could just read novels, which I figure would have infinitely better writing
Anonymous No.281685802 [Report]
>>281685665
LNs have a wider range of settings so people can indulge in their isekai or highschool romcoms when they're in their mid-30s, and at the same time the gate's open for amateur writers to make stuff like biblia, tsuki to laika, kino's journey, spice and wolf, etc.
i picked up kino's journey when i was first learning japanese and i found it to be very easy to understand, but upon revisiting it years later it was very disappointing because of how straightforward and basic it was.
but then again it's fiction for teenagers so you have to temper your expectations

Not his fault. The execs got in the way of what he wanted to do with later movies. We were so fucking close from gettng a literal Mechagodzilla City vs Godzilla fight with multiple mechagodzilla heads being piloted by MC. 4D Ghidorah was still pretty fucking cool though.

I respect his perverted writing immensely, and I'm glad he's dabbled in cosmic horror. Outside those areas, he just seems a bit over dramatic.
