It's crazy how the toc screams that this is going to get axed ASAP but somehow the story shows no sign of that. Either the ending is going to be very abrupt with a sudden enemy invasion leading to final battle that's over within a couple of chapters or there is something weird going on with the editorial department.

This was actually a really good chapter. OTR is such an uneven ride, but I hope he can keep this level of quality steady for a while.

I don't want to get invested in something only to get axed.

Yeah. At the end of chapter 2 we should have met Huggin, with him telling Otr to go to the village to help Eturpiko.
So basically remove Chapters 3-5 (which are pretty much what killed the series if it dies early), change 6 a bit to make that the new 3, and just carry on from there since everything after has been either decent or good. It's so weird that Kawaguchi ignored something so obvious.
