As far as I can tell the majority of the western readerbase still doesn't really get it and prefers Harukaze and Kaedgami because they're more modern and have typical art styles. That in and of itself isn't a problem, everyone as their own opinion, but they seem to think they'll survive just because THEY prefer those series - even though they're not the ones putting in survey votes and buying volumes. They still haven't caught on that PPP's retained/increased its popularity in Japan the most of the new series so far.

As someone who has been critical of the manga since the Black Parade started, I'd accepted that Saito is going to keep it as his personal pet, considering the Sakaki plot point that was left hanging for few chapters (seemed like he would be the key character to end The Black Parade). Yeah, the introduction of Huggin, and Etupirko's true identity, the 5 heroes/5 spirits lore also make me think Otr might get the push after Saito has had enough of Kiyoshi (and despite reader's lukewarm reception). Which I think it's fine since expanding its world building might lead to an interesting plot, and not a long dragged fight that goes on for 10 months like Kiyoshi. Either way, Saito is going down as the most hated EiC in the history of Jump with these kind of decisions.
