The best thing about KnY is the tension that comes from protagonists who don’t have supernatural powers, at most on the power level of the Baki universe, going up against enemies who wouldn’t feel out of place in the Bleach universe.
They have to dodge a barrage of instant-death/limb-destroying attacks and fight desperate battles by scraping together numbers, weapons, and tools.
Rengoku and Tengen themselves showed what happens when a UM-level demon’s attacks land directly, and that gave the tension real credibility.
This kind of fight might seem common in shonen manga like Jump, but in reality it’s rare.

Agreed. Those versus matchups don't matter in Kimetsu no Yaiba because there's zero tactical nuance like in Naruto or HxH. Characters don't win because of clever strategy or unique abilities, they win because the plot says they do. It's pretty much like Cartman saying, "I have the power to have all the powers I want" mid play. Kokushibo and Doma are supposed to be high-level demons with centuries of combat and OP abilities... But they drop like flies because someone flashbacks hard enough. There's really no logical consistency, no power scaling, no rules. It's emotional theatrics masquerading as combat.

Tanjiro was getting his get back for Rengoku fighting Akaza alongside Giyuu, the other Hashira who believed in him the most and both of them carried loved ones in their designs like Akaza was with Koyuki.
