The party then started failing quests. The Boy went on to fight solo, nearly dying, learning to buff himself to superhuman levels and cleared the dungeon alone.
He came back to them hoping to re-enter the party now that he could handle his own but entered in a big misunderstanding that Guy was on the Leader Girl in a night, assumed he was kicked out because of inner romance and ran off becoming bitter and believing no one. That Guy ends up being the actual protagonist, the author's pet, and it only gets worse from there.
The Party keeps failing quests, becoming target of ridicule by the city for kicking out the only competent person that is rising through the ranks, the Boy mocks them for that in front of everyone, the Guy shits on him for that defending the Girl citing how she tries and cares more than anyone.
In spite of the fact they couldn't bother waiting for him, in spite of the fact they kicked him out in the most hateful way possible, in spite of the fact no one cared about him.
And the Guy started training the Girl, teaching her and the party cohesion that they did NOT when the Boy was in. They kicked him out but for each other they actually tried.
And it gets even WORSE with the revelation both the Witch of the party and the Guy were HOLDING BACK. They both had way more power than they revealed. Which means they kept fighting worse to stand together with the Girl, never caring about the Boy they kicked out.
