The point of Guts being relatable isn't what's been done to him or the fact he's a one-man army, but the fact he's someone that struggles, which is literally THE theme in Berserk.
And he's also relatable for having a full range of emotions.
He has trauma, he suffers, he cries, he butchers hordes of enemies, he's got his eyes set on literal Outer Gods, he's uncaring and extremely caring at the same time. He moves forward despite having a horrible "wealth" of past experiences crushing him down.

NTA but you're disingenuous even if he worded it wrongly. A lot of men nowadays are kind of locked in a loop of misery and hopelessness, struggling to get even the basic parts of their lives sorted out. They're lonely and feel like the tasks at hand are beyond their reach. They want to get strong mentally and physically and all the immediate reward they get is some temporary mental relief, knowing they've worked hard, but not necessarily anything material. Of course people see Guts and go "wow, he's literally me!" as he struggles not only against a world filled with demons out for him, but with loneliness, a sense of being adrift, and channels his righteous anger into power and self-actualization.

I like Guts because he's cute and nice to others, I never found him that relatable because even though he's the MC he's usually strong and has a handle on his emotions. There are some that can relate to the cool stoic type but not me.
