Also it gets to the point where both characters pretty openly are in love in with each other but are too busy with the plot to talk to each other about it, guess it's one of those stories where characters won't hook up until the ending. As much as characters like early series Okarun annoy me I think Dandadan was actually a better series earlier on overall, the tone and vibe changes a lot later on.

Okarun's plans have been about thrusting himself into the belly of the beast. "throw momo to safety, it's fine if I'm in danger if she lives" "I could save myself but I gotta find TG first" "I need to go off by myself to get stronger so I can fight Evil Eye by myself". Okarun has an individualistic mindset. (he's used to having no friends, after all)
Momo's plans often involve grabbing onto Okarun, often in a full body embrace, and also sometimes without any clothes on. She doesn't like splitting up and would prefer to remain in eyesight of the people she cares about. Momo has a couple's mindset, facing the danger together with someone she trusts.
