Very funny that Murata's Fubuki still tries to shill them into joining her retarded group of losers. Unlike the webcomic one she has no personality traits except being hot and the recruiting thing so Murata has to put extra emphasis on that trait because she has not gotten any real development and without that she would be nothing but a goon material cardboard. We could have gotten a hot goddess with a personality to boot but no can do, gooning session more important.

The manga is literally OPM 2.0 and superior in every way.
It never made sense for Saitama to say anything deep, he was literally created as the idea of a superficial hero who beat any monster, making a joke of tight battle, of deep character development, of constant powerlevel increase. Creating a contrast for characters who actually go into the details.

The Saitama vs Garou was far better than the manga, even ignoring the arts.
Garou needed to cross the line then regret it, he needed to reach absolute bullshit powerlevel and see he still wouldn't match Saitama, because of the very powercreep the manga was created to mock.
And there's no better way for Garou to understand what he truly wanted to be than to give up everything he became to save it.

I would still fix a few things if I could but that's mostly details.

You yourself just described precisely the most important bit that RUINS the fight and Garou's character as a whole. Beyond the time travel and the god shittery, beyond the accidental heroism clown show, beyond instantly rectonned chapters, and beyond the loss of actually funny dialogue and resolution. Garou learns nothing.

That Garou in your pic, who comes to regret his actions after seeing the consequences and turns into a pillar of salt to fix it? Well guess what, he doesn't exist because he gets retroactively erased from the timeline. He activates the ultimate asspull and introduces time travel that undoes his own character development.

The actual Garou we end up with is still the exact same asshole who didn't get to learn any lesson, who then gets essentially pardoned with a slap on the wrist despite everything he did and gets to live a cushy life with his master protecting him while he waits to be fast-tracked into being an S-class hero.
