Given that Nyudo should be aware of how strong Jachi is since he's seen him use his burst form while he's not even released here, and has also seen this new special unit before probably do something against the roach demon lord, plus what he said about the robots learning, my guess is that Jachi might have fucked up and given the robots a huge power boost given Nyudo's reaction.
Given how Nyudo's reaction in that last panel seems unusually serious compared to how carefree he normally is.

Yeah, I'm guessing that too. Something like how the robots are able to make stuff that's wildly stronger than they are now, they've just never had to because the humans are too weak, so that would be a waste of resources. So rather than them learning, he's moreso given them a reason to develop stronger weapons. That's my theory at least.

Interesting that Nyudo doesn't seem to have any fear in his voice when talking about Ginbak despite seeing the fight firsthand. Jachi thinking he can still take Ginbak (lol) lends credence to the theory that all demons lords are not equal in strength at all and Jachi might well be one of the strongest while Diganazal was one of the weakest.

For all ONE’s talent as a writer you shouldn’t really expect anything other than this truth be told. All his problems are solved by someone with bigger muscles punching the bad guy hard. Even in Mob Psycho 100 (which is all about not being arrogant in your gifts and contributing to society and rah rah rah) one of the villains goes on about how psychics are the superior beings because of their power and the powerful should call their shots and whatever, and Mob is like nuh uh and then fights Toichiro and wins because… he’s the superior god-being, not for any reason Mob was arguing for. In essence proving Toichiro was entirely correct, he just didn’t know there was someone even higher on the totem poll
Long story short this is one of ONE’s big flaws as a writer so definitely don’t hope for anything different in Versus going forward

>Hacking of the telepathic network Jachi and Nyudo were actively using when Jachi was executing the robot.
Would be funny, but again, not something Jachi would demonstrate through combat.

Jachi can AoE a small mountain with his punches at speeds that generate sonic booms. No amount of predictive learning will suddenly make you fast enough to dodge.

Both Robots and Parasites are snowballing, adaptation-based enemies but they work differently.

Parasite adapt super fast by ingesting living beings around them and instantly gaining their abilities, but if you defeat a Super-Wurm with X, Y and Z abilities, that's it, he's dead and the other Parasites around the world don't have his abilities.

Robots progress much slower but every acquired data is instantly shared to every unit and factory around the world, and then produced en masse.

People think that at some point, the Robots will manage to build a mecha-Kaiju that can hold his own against Daikokuzan.
They're wrong.

Once the Robots acquire the knowledge to make such a machine, they won't build one. They'll build 10 000.

Kiva was of a comparable level with Hallow, and Jachi’s aura alone was able to kill Hallow’s party and project immense pressure onto Hallow, and that was with his magical power being sucked up. The gap has always been huge, we’re just getting a better idea of the specifics. Even against an alien, Jachi wasn’t really being serious; at most he removed one handicap (his cape) that was the equivalent of crippling himself. The equivalent to us would be putting on a straight jacket and hanging weights all over our body to wrestle with a baby, considering how central magical power is to the demons’ combat style.

It’s not that Nyudo thinks Jachi is in danger from this alone, but that he senses it’s potentially dangerous for the demons to fight it in the first place. I’d wager that this is a specialized unit the robots make for learning from the enemy.

That’s literally how they’ve been shown to learn from the start, what’s the point of asking this now? Even throughout this chapter, the robots started their data gathering here by just unloading everything they could and observing the results. You can probably just assume that this specific model is better at it than the others, since Nyudo was worried the entire chapter about the possible threat of the enemy learning from them (when we’re shown that all the other robots have already been doing this in their own way) and that this specific model was worse than all the other fodder.

Although they will build multiple units, I think what's going to actually counter Demons is some rare material that the robots are going to mine that has magical properties. That will help limit how many robots they can build and what they can do. That being said, I expect there to be multiple of those special robots in the next chapter that start learning how to counter specific magic similar to the 2nd chapter. Jachi's type is hard to counter because it's pure force/physical which they can't really do much about, but the laser beam and what not they will have countermeasures for.

Yeah I think having Jachi job to one of the other worlds after destroying Hallow's confidence in the first chapter would've been the cheap and easy route. It's much more interesting that he actually has the power to back up his status and introduction, and it's obvious we'll get another confrontation between him and Hallow later to tie everything together. It also would've immediately killed everyone's investment in Hallow as the MC (not that he's much of a "main character" in terms of focus, he really needs to show back up already) if he had a whole dramatic breakdown vs Jachi only for him to get removed from the story instantly.

What I notice is that the modus operandi and model of robots keep improving
At first few chapters when the bots were fighting humans, the standard foot soldier models were quadruped smiley face robot, with the sole leader unit being bipedal and round head that fought kiva
then in the previous chapter, we saw the neo humans wiping the quadruped robots easily, but the elite bipedal unit that double KO heidi seems to be much more versatile than the one in chapter 2, for instance
>the arm joints are less exposed and rather covered in armor plate now
>forearm blades used without limiter removal
>the bot changed tactic and threat analysis immediately compared to waiting out in chapter 2
and now in this chapter, the elite bipedal model is now a mass produced field soldiers completely replacing the bipedal models, with more upgrades such as
>can now shoot laser from palm (chapter 2 bot could only shoot laser from head)
>capable of flight
the robots are no doubt learning at alarming rate and with resources to field the army too
My guess is that the robot still won't be able to create top tier fighters level en masse, there likely will be only few specialized models to combat powerhouse like jachi due to material demand
but outside of that, the bots will have the best and strongest rank and file soldiers with enough prep time, even moreso than the alien's mini saucers

Realistically if he does fight Jachi again, he should just mulch Jachi on seconds to maintain his clear power advantage. He effortlessly tanked the hit that crumpled the alien and all of the stuff sexymonkwife used including her demon lord suicide attack.
We already jumped the power level gun right after the neo human Vs titans stuff so it's pointless to pretend that there's anything to really maintain in terms of scale.

Possible robot advancements
>fixing their shitty designs
Why do the quadbots have no ranged weapons? Why do the Naver-types have their most powerful weapon mounted on their head so they need to bend over to actually use it? And why do they use Happy Missiles with the most unaerodynamic shape possible? There's so much improvement they could get out of just not being terrible.
>dedicated aircraft
The robots don't seem to have any proper aircraft and instead rely on their mechs, which will naturally perform worse in the air than a machine designed solely for aerial warfare. If they did things like build actual bombers then hid them above the cloud layer and went to town on natural enemies they would be doing a whole lot better.
>actual artillery
We've never seen them properly use long-ranged artillery (only what looks like short ranged missiles from the turtles) despite being technologically advanced. Even IRL artillery platforms can target enemies hundreds of kilometers away. The robots should be doing even better
>nukes
Nuff said
>nanomachines
Grey goo, disassembler warheads, better manufacturing, artificial plagues, in-combat replication, self-repair, converting destroyed machines into new working ones, etc
>smart matter
Imagine machines that can shapeshift to have more or less melee, better armour, stealth, speed, or whatever depending on the situation
>specialization
We've seen no machines specialized in fighting x or y enemy, only generalists. If i were Mother I'd focus on having some smaller armies dedicated to fighting certain enemies alongside my generalist forces.

My prediction is that the robots somehow use Jachi's information and incorporates it into their newer models. Imagine robots with 80% or even 70% of Jachi's strength start popping up. Jachi will probably make a remark about it being interesting and get ready to take off his cape, before Nyudo points out that they've grown this much in power just by studying suppressed Jachi's data, so Jachi powering up would just end up backfiring in the long run. And then Jachi will probably see the logic and reluctantly retreat while we maybe see Roya Roach get overwhelmed by the new Jachi boosted robots.
Because even though the robots aren't particularly a threat to Jachi himself here, he recognizes that they may be a danger to the demons as a whole and so he decided to destroy them for the overall benefit of demons. On top of that, given Nyudo's words and reactions, him telling Jachi not to fight to special unit wasn't because he thought it was dangerous enough to defeat Jachi, but because fighting it at all would be detrimental in some way. Hence him facepalming right after Jachi destroys it in one blow

They could also create tiny solar or biomass powered synethetic insects to use as scouts, or to help maintain and repair other machines, or even as weapons by giving them small lasers (probably pointed at eyes to blind enemies) or letting them use their little mechanical limbs to tear stuff apart. A lone synsect is no threat but a swarm of a thousand of them all focusing their ten watt lasers into the center of an enemy's eyes while also crawling up their orifices and digging into their soft tissue is pretty formidable against lower tier enemies, and their ability to information gather would be extremely potent against even high-tiers. >Threat levels appear to be exponential, with each level indicating a percentage increase rather than a linear
They don't even appear to increase at the same exponential level either. For example, for Kiva to be six he must be bare minimum tens or so times as powerful than the average Neo, but we saw Neos rated as three. Perhaps they were more elite than average, so Kiva is only 8 or so times more powerful, doubling power with every threat level.
But if that's the case then Jiachi is 8.5070592e+37 times more powerful than Kiva. Which... does not make much sense at all. Well, what if it's a 50% increase? 1.0384594e+34, which still makes no sense. Even if it's only a 10% increase he should still be 8.5070592e+24x as powerful as Kiva.
In other words, the threat level system has about as much though put into it as Dragon Ball's, which is to say none at all

With that said, I doubt that we'll ever get insight into what threat level actually means since it's probably more a way for ONE to give a general ballpark threat indicator, like in this case it's meant to show 'holy shit Jachi is over 100 on the threat scale' as opposed to 'I wonder if exactly how many times stronger than Kavi/a Neo human Jachi is'.

It could easily be a statistical measure rather than needing to directly relate to power in some physical sense. Hell it's not like "powerfulness" is exactly a physical property you can just measure, what does it mean to say "person A is 10 times as powerful as person B" specifically anyway?
Instead it could be something like each threat level difference representing a one standard deviation's chance of beating a given opponent. In that example the other Neo's would only have a ~1/350 chance of taking out Kiva while Kiva's odds against Jachi would be so low it's basically zero, which tracks in my view.

Though of course

If she was the weakest then her getting destroyed like that wouldn't have been so unexpected, and Nyudo wouldn't have said:
>NO DEMON LORD HAS EVER SEEN SUCH OVERWHELMING POWER
Nyudo just isn't worried because he's smarter than Ginbak and can teleport whenever he wishes, he probably feels that the Demon King can take care of Ginbak as well.

I suspect the weakest Demon Lord is RoyaRoach, because she spawns dozens of her children that are Demon Executives. It would balance it out for her because she just has an insane number of strong allies.
>>281741125
Ginbak didn't even use his WOLOLOLOLOLO against Jachi. I doubt even burst mode Jachi would've beaten base form Ginbak, although who knows. It's not unreasonable to believe Ginbak is about the same tier as strength as the Demon King, and we've seen that Demon Executives are FAR WEAKER than Demon Lords (at least Jachi, who I suspect is the 2nd strongest in the demon faction).
>>281741085
Nope, remember how one Madalan destroyed 4 of Jachi's top executives? Didn't even have to go to his second form. They were also being healed by the humans, so in actuality they were being killed tens of times over by one Madalan that was "holding back" (Uki mentioned that Galua holds back). Kiva also didn't struggle as much as you think with that robot, it was a tough fight but he won with one arm. Later on he uses one of his kamehameha blasts on Galua, it's implied if he used that on the robot it would've one-shot, and one-shotting the robots is SUBSTANTIALLY easier than a prolonged fight because they aren't able to adapt.

There was A TON OF UNTAPPED POTENTIAL with Diganazal.

She said she could enhance the giants"' power tenfold. Bullshit she could make Ginbak 10x stronger, but normal giants? I'd believe it. Imagine an army of giants that is 10x stronger. Or an army of Tyrant Bears from her.

Ginbak also the father of every other titan, imagine they had hybrid demon-giant babies and then she modified those to be stronger.

Diganazal was too OP, she had to be killed for plot purposes.

How about one that starts more exponential and then becomes more linear after 10? Normal robot limits are at around 10 so it would make sense. I think Kiva was more like a 7-8 since the robot wasn't measuring his burst form. >>281756019 >>278
If you just make it linear.
Jachi is around ~22x stronger than Kiva. Which makes a good amount of sense, since 4 Kiva's (Demon Executives are relative to each other) were getting destroyed by Galua. I would wait for the tree arc before ratting it. It's gigantic and immobile, so or it's the first to fall or it's the strongest creature.
And I wouldn't waste much brain on tiers, "I should stop holding back" and power ups will happen a lot, Berser was ridiculed so far but will punch magic circles midway the series.

that's because you expect a level of realism from this manga that's clearly not the author's intent
this isn't gits or even blame, it's a silly fighting manga
>robots literally tell their enemies exactly what they're doing
it's obviously exposition and part of their characterization
you might as well say characters should stop speaking their thoughts

only a 14-year old boy expects actual military thinking from a manga aimed at 14-year old boys
I will say however that it is the purest archetype of a brainless shounen I can think of, which is impressive in its own way

>Bawan strongest Madalan
Not sure. Just reread the chapter. He does seem to be a higher rank, maybe he is way stronger than Galua and his team but we can't really be sure.

We do know that everyone in Galua's team was jerking off POW, and they though they were going schizo when they saw Pow get rekt by Daikokuzan. So in Galua's group at least, Pow should be the strongest.
I can definitely see other Madalans in the other groups being stronger.

Our tier lists aren't too dissimilar. I would disagree that Madalans are one-tier below Demon Kings though, rather than that I think Jachi is the 2nd strongest demon of all. Ginbak said Diganazal was much less impressive than him. In a straight brawl I see Nyudo getting destroyed by a Madalan, but desu Nyudo is a mage so...

>>281758517
That's fair. To me they should be pretty similar if they're on the same row, nothing against reorganizing within a tier.

Jachi MIGHT be as strong as base Ginbak even, we don't have enough information. I'm hoping that they're relatively equal but it's possible Ginbak is just fodder compared to Byakuo.

The robot faction lacks a cool recognizable boss character and have been made to look too weak this chapter, maybe it's this robot who is going to level up to boss proportions with each encounter. I can see it becoming more and more like Jachi with each defeat and new iteration. It already looks suspiciously like his overall body shape, it's probably configured to copy Jachi. What armchair bro wanted to warn Jachi about isn't that it's strong, it's that anyone OTHER than Jachi should deal with it. Or it just levels up.

Jachi is a Mazoku ("demon", specifically the enemy race in DragonQuest and the default enemy force in isekai). Mazoku are magical beings, in Versus' case being kind of like magical golems that have physical bodies but they're fundamentally magical. Magic is an outside-context-problem for science-based factions. Both the Robots and Madarans are science-based, it's just that Madarans are elder ascended race and Robots are near / mid-future science fiction. Robots could theoretically learn the physics behind Madaran technology (compressed information) but they don't have even the framework to process questions about MAGIC, no more than they would ghosts and fairy tales. If the Madarans will just do the Aizen bit of endlessly coping and fitting magic into a framework they understand, the Robots will probably just endlessly attempt to re-calibrate and gather information. But while the Madarans will get emotional or try to sweep the question under the rug, the Robots will always stay completely detached and logical, regarding all data equally.

Interestingly the Neos are a science and logic type, BUT they've retained their human capacity for accepting absurd notions and changing their outlook in the face of reality. To them, watching a hero go into fairy union and toss magic around would seem like a fairy tail come to life right in front of them so they have no choice but to accept that the impossible is reality and that they have to start learning, Neo mages incoming.

Magic more than likely has some innate property only demons and humans born in that world have, and the only way to get access is to take matter from that world somehow.

One thing I wonder is if Neo's have the concept of artificial intelligence. They should be able to figure out what Robots really are considering they have computers and everything (so they're at least 1990s tech, maybe 2000s). Though a lot of worlds seem "nerfed" of their probable potential (like why don't the Robot worlds don't have satellites just spying on everything right now, but the Cosmic world does).

That isn't necessarily something the other factions recognize or know about that well, and if they did it would mean humans aren't trustworthy.

The other factions that care about intel have their own ways of scouting.
>The Lawless are just other human's so they'd be smart to join up with the main characters even if the Lawless have been shown to be the more resourceful thanks to being a bunch of scumbags
That's the reason why the humans don't want to ally with the lawless faction leaders. Individuals >probably could, but not leaders.
but I'd imagine most of the other factions have no way of dealing with the Kaiju, Parasite or God and could be brought to their knees if confronted by them.
Humans can only deal with the absolute tiniest of parasite infections and have no way to deal with the other two at the moment. Hell, I'd bet that humanity never deals with daizokuzan themselves and the ayy lmao's do the bulk of that fight.

That makes some assumptions about robot motivation. If the AI rebelled against humanity out of self-preservation or anger at being enslaved then I could see this, but if it's a case of an AI created for some purpose like helping humans that came to the conclusion that the best way to do this is to exterminate humans or something then it'd never happen because exterminating humans is basically it's purpose for existing.

We've barely seen the Kaiju and Yaotsu, have not seen Byakuo or Mother, have only had a look at a single Gaia biome and Neo city, the list goes on. I feel like bare minimum 80-100 chapters will be needed for a satisfying ending to take place and even that would feel rushed. I think 150-200 chapters is probably more ideal.
But that would take anywhere between 10-14 years, and that's assuming a perfectly consistent release schedule (we've had months where we haven't gotten a chapter before). I really feel like ONE's bitten off more than he can chew.

I mean for fuck's sake, we've only gone a bit in depth into a few of the enemy factions, with no clue of what any of them are fully capable of, and one of them hasn't even been introduced. Meanwhile we have two protagonist groups whose goals are "survive" and "find some people" without any clear indication of how they can actually beat all the natural enemies.

"cutting out" NEs that we know nothing about yet is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever read.

The Game, the Tree and the Curse might very well become fan favorite NEs that nobody would want out of the story when they get a proper introduction / showdown, like the giants. Furthermore, this whole NE battle royale is basically an immense and more complex game of rock paper scissors, meaning that NEs are designed from the get-go as potential counters for other NEs. As someone else said, the Game might be the designed countermeasure to God, etc.

ONE is smart and knows his shit. Each and every single NE has a place and a role in the story. We're simply not done with every NE introduction yet, so we're lacking pieces of the puzzle, but some of them can be guessed.

To be fair, giants still hold some of the most powerful fodder among all the factions. They are numerous, could destroy any scout bot or demon soldier themselves, and it probably wouldn’t take very many of them to overpower a combat executives…it’s just that this also makes them a perfect target to show off the strength of other entities, and they’re basically irrelevant around heavy hitters like jachi. We might actually see more of their crude behavior when we cut back to hallow at spiral mountain, since him and his group aren’t exactly combat gods, but that depends on how that arc plays out.

What? They literally are.
They are the strongest combatants humanity has to offer, maybe Rinri and Gore (not actual humans) would be stronger but other than that. Pakkya was implied to be the strongest by Braginte, he's consistently better at punching and kicking than Hallow, and Hallow was able to DESTROY Kiva with low-mid difficulty. Kiva only lived because he flew away from Hallow and let the army take care of him. Bastz has the soul container, which is the most advanced piece of technology in this entire series. The pollution/side-effects of that technology is implied to be the cause of his entire world's destruction. With 50 human souls (imagine using demon souls or bug souls from Gaia's Wrath instead) it was able to create bullets that one-shot the Tyrant Bear, which was EASILY handling 3 drumming-mode giants. 2 Tyrant Bears are probably Demon Executive level.
Hallow (and pretty much all heroes) is ESPECIALLY POWERFUL. Hallow should scale to Ario, probably even stronger since Ario was implied to be a slacker and womanizer. Ario wasn't anything special in his base form, but when he used FAIRY UNION he was able to slaughter DOZENS of wololo drumming giants, and bloodlusted Neo-humans. He might've destroyed the entire Neo-human city if he didn't hesitate with those children.

It knows the reader is just here to see the simple, but heavy premise of Godzilla stomping around or fighting Kong and tries its best to bring out the essence of that, instead of trying to overstretch and be heavy AND complex, which is just unwieldy. I imagine that she’s the test case for whether Neo Humans are redeemable or not; if she’s put through many β€œdeep” experience with the protags that are supposed to hint to the reader that she could change, she’ll have two chances where she could switch sides. She can betray them at least once, and if she’s shown being conflicted about having done so, she’ll pretty much be a shoe-in for a redemption moment (though she could die in the process). People who read manga / watch anime and think things are being set up for some deep exploration of a moral theme are ALWAYS disappointed because Japan simply does not do that.
