This thread is going to get deleted since it's more of a /co/ topic, but people really expose how new they are when they talk about when anime "got big".
Like, Attack on Titan was huge around 2013. I remember a guy in the year above me going to pre-graduation stuff in full cosplay, and a guy in my year did a picture of Kirito and Asuna for his big art project.
Anyways, a modern parody would just be what's currently popular I guess, so

Stays. They're still popular.

I could see them getting lumped in. They're still in that kids-YA audience without being too overtly edge to include (which is why Chainsawman would not make the cut).
