But taking care of "Red" made Cross come to love him as he is, even if "Allen" turned out to be a broken kid mimicking Mana. He really liked how Allen slowly returned to the og cheeky brat personality after the events of Black Order Invasion. Even after his "death" he still went to give Allen words of wisdom in the dreamscape.
Bookman Jr. also wanted to be with 14th, but came to love the OG!Allen so much he sacrificed himself. Like two or three newest chapters show it.
Grandma and her servant also deeply care for Allen, even if they were just people that Cross was in contact with.
There are still many questions but it seems like Road also likes "Allen" much more than "14th" inside.
Same with Mana - it seems that even with all his madness, there were sane moments where he cared about Allen the human kid instead of Allen the Dog. Well, you could also call it a unconscious projection of their brotherly love.
