Seasonal anime is junk food. There are so many seasonal shows I've watched, enjoyed, but ultimately have forgotten. For a minute there, I was thinking Apocalypse Hotel was my AotY, but a season after it aired, it's already fading from memory. Tells me it clearly wasn't as good as I thought. And I can think of dozens more just like it. Too many anime exist that are just "water cooler" shows. You watch it, talk about it, and forget about it.

All anime is "seasonal." Even movies and (back when they were still a thing) OVAs technically release during a season.
You don't remember anything because your brain is overstimulated and rotted by social media. That's not the fault of anime as a medium or the production cycles it adheres to for convenience.
