Mitsuhiko is probably one of my favourite characters in the series, and at the start he's kind of got his traits in place, but he's not really showing them off. I remember Aoyama once saying that he is smarter than Shinichi was at his age, and you could really feel that in some later material.

Well, anime is stretching the already stretched plot so much that it's actually years behind the manga, so I'd recommend anyone to get a list of plot relevant episodes, and put filler on the side for rainy days.
But at least manga is diving deeper into overarching plot now, even if it all feels kind of forced with everyone conveniently gathering around Rum.

Yes, it was the case where BO kept intercepting FBI coded messages and was killing their agents. Camel was chased to a small island and had to be bailed out by Akai and Conan. In this series, only agents of japanese descent and to some extent James Black as a senior are allowed to be good at their job, everyone else makes blunders on level of what the fuck were they thinking.
