How do you guys feel about Jojolion? Like I've never heard an opinion on it that wasn't absolutely praising it or shitting on it. Im on volume 17 and I'm really enjoying it so far but what is your opinion?

josuke the 4 balls man is based but the end villain is pretty weak and alot of questions are really not answered or resolved in a satisfying way. vs say part 5 or 7 endings which are much more complete feeling.

I'd have to reread. I liked it quite a lot for a good portion of its run, but it started feeling weaker for me during some of the later bits. I know at least some of that feeling is legitimate, but I also know that following a manga with /a/ can sometimes cause me to view things more negatively, when it's probably 'fine'

I think it's good overall. The latter half is definitely weaker (although still mostly enjoyable) and it really does fizzle out at the end, but I do think it's good.

It's good but it get worse towards the end. Main villain is kinda meh but not the worst main villain in JoJo

Most of the hate it gets is because of its dropped plot points.
Normally this isn't an issue, since this is common in all previous 7 parts but Jojolion was unfortunate to be serialising during almost entirety of '10s, the time where Jojo fanbase grew exponentially, as well as being the longest part.

I had a generally positive impression. It's not my favorite part, but it has its moments. I've learned that Araki just sort of throws things into the story that aren't actually meant to go anywhere. Once you understand that a lot of even the shittier parts become a lot more enjoyable.

Dropped plot points are specially bad when so many mysteries are set up. Part of the fun of Jojolion was theorizing how they would unravel and seeing them completely forgotten / retconned was a big disappointment.
Maybe you can enjoy it more if you manage your expectations and keep in mind that most of what's set up is just Araki riffing whatever came to his mind with no real plans and will be forgotten.

Jojolion was meant to be two volumes longer but the magazine asked Araki to wrap it up because they were cutting back on how many physical volumes they were publishing each year and Jojolion copping the loss would mean two mangaka less famous than araki would have their one volume mangas not have their tankobons delayed by several years.
With that in mind I think Araki did an acceptable job in cutting his losses even if he had to tell not show the key points of

The actual problem behind the dropped plot points is that without them, there's nothing else. No one cares if Part 3 for example drops a plot point, as long as Jotaro defeats Dio and saves Holy. But 4balls didn't even save his Holy, had no other end goal, no one cared about the little boy's curse anyway which was also done badly, so the mysteries are all we had to carry the plot.
