Got dragged to watch this by my Korean wife who is a turbo normie.

This is how it went:

>20 minutes of sappy backstory
>30 seconds of flashy animation and seizure-inducing effects
>30 minutes of more sappy melodrama
>2 minutes of more flashy lights for toddlers

And just like that, for two and half hours. That's the entire fucking movie, which by the way isn't an actual movie since it doesn't have an actual story. It's just three fights in some weird place.

Also, after the supposed climax, there's still like 45 minutes of the bad guy's backstory. You have to be kidding me. Whoever likes this trash is a genuine retard.

The movie is two and a half hours btw so this doesn't even make sense. And the 30 minute sappy backstory is actually at the end.

It's fine if the general pacing and structure of the arc works for a movie. It's also useful to bypass censorship of aired anime. A great example is the Made in Abyss movie, minimal content was lost from cutting the arc down to a movie length, and it benefited in every way. The only advantage Demon Slayer gets is even better animation, but the release schedule becomes slower than it already was.

After watching this movie recently,I finally decided to start from the very beginning of Season 1 to catch up.

No wonder the hype shot up in the sky, even Unlimited Blade Works sufferes from some bad animation and the quality and presentation is strangely consistent so far in Episode 4.

Maybe watch ADHD shit like Solo Leveling, JJK, or Dandadan where they don’t bother with enough backstory to make me care. What is it with people who just want to jump into the action ASAP without any buildup. No wonder we got trash like the JJK Shibuya arc and then Gege backtracked with that ass Culling arc. They really thought I gave a crap when Nobara died.

Im going to assume you didn't watch the anime because it's been like that the whole way through. The movie is not a good standalone flick for the average joe that isnt caught up with the show unless you like the spectacle of the animation and fights.
