Yes sir I like him, favorite moment has to be him tanking Ichigo's big knife and casually piercing him with his blade like Ichigo is a soda can, and he starts spilling blood all over. It was such a strong impression of what a Captain can be, especially HIM.
2 hands was cool but we never really see it again so it feels like a waste and Deus Ex that Kubo decided to not bring up anymore.
As a side note, I thought he was dying when after the Ichigo fight he begins talking to Yachiru at the rooftop while wounded, having flashbacks and everything, and finally he stops answering her. She goes like

as we pan to the sky with sad music iirc, it totally looked like a death scene and made me cry a little

Right? Should have had an epic death taking down... Yhwach's first form. Or stalling and scaring him because his massive strength breaks his future sight. Ichigo and Ishida still deserve to end the conflict, but Kenpachi literally got trained by Unohana for this moment and then he fucks off after fighting Gremmy at the middle of the Cour and low-diffing him after releasing his Shikai. Then Gerard is just a punching bag, not a real battle.
If Gerald was a better character then I'd say Zaraki surpassing miracles and infinitely killing him (perhaps both trapped in a loop forever like Valhalla) would be an amazing end for him. But Gerald wasn't that good, just a big brute that never dies and gets back stronger like we didn't already have Yammy and Mask.
