There was a time when the otaku culture relevance of Di Gi Charat, Rozen Maiden, and Touhou all overlapped and you would see crossover fanart like this more often. I took it for granted then but it's interesting to think about now.

I feel pretty much the same way. I never really thought I'd see the day where gatcha and vtuber stuff gets more fan art than Touhou.
