I don't think it would be a prophecy, but a belief in such a being, except instead of the literal princes Faputa, it would morph into a belief surrounding the princess of the underworld, naturally it would then involve taking candidates into the abyss and attempt to have them archive that status though some horrific means.

It's all part of Wazukyan's vision in the end, he saw some vision of how the abyss could be tamed, or how one could make it home. Faputa has close ties with the nature of the abyss itself, considering the village was a crucible, fucking with the redistribution of signals outside of the 2000 year cycle. It was a safe space to pull signals from the abyss and keep it safe there for at least one cycle and gift them all to one being through Faputa devouring the villagers.
I'm curious to see how the princess faith will function, but no doubt it will also involve manipulation of souls/signals from the abyss, just a mock copy of Faputa's version.

I understand that Faputa's creation occurred under very specific circumstances which are incredibly unlikely to be common occurrences down in the pit, but if beings like her are capable of being born, why haven't more super-powered vaguely human sentient creatures traveled up and out of the abyss? Faputa, at least, could easily do it. Do these immortal demigods of the underground fall ill if they leave the abyssal sphere of influence?

Well, the "elevator" does go back up. But then you'd have to accost a white whistle as soon as they come down and somehow convince them to allow you, an inscrutable creature from the depths, to travel to the upper layers. It might not go well.

Not the previous cycle. Srajo said 100 years on the 6th layer is over 3000 on the surface. That would mean 150 is over 4500. That means its wasnt the previous cycle, but about 1000-1500 years into the cycle before that.

Don't get me wrong, I really like Made in Abyss. I just can't keep up with it when it's this fucking slow.
I decided years ago that I'm just going to play catch-up when another Bondrewd level arc completes. Mutant village was wrapping up when I left, but that was already at the point where it was so slow I could barely remember what the fuck was happening when each new chapter would drop.
Right now I guess you could say I'm looking to read this series volume by volume rather than chapter by chapter. Otherwise I'd lose my mind. I really hate how slow it is.
