Honestly, it's kind of hard to pinpoint what exactly Yuuma's deal is. But I don't think you can make a good case for him being anything but evil. I think he's "Japanese evil" as in he commits evil through being polite and apologizing.
>>281983232
This guy swerved from melting people into goop to just being so selective he can simply destroy their beauty instead and alter their perceptions os they never notice anything is wrong. That's some flexible Satan power.
>>281983179
My god, he used his satanic powers to charm this girl into betraying her friend, how despicable...
Hang on, I'm getting reports that his satanic powers are just for melting people and she just did that on her own over a compliment.
>>281983468
He literally worships the Devil and melts people. He is absolutely pure evil and what makes it worse is that he dresses it in pleasantries to obscure his monstrosity.
>>281983312 >>281983325
How would Yuuma react to a demon invasion? Would he worship them? Would worship affect them if they were demons? Questions, questions.
>>281987913 >Shinto doesn't really have a Devil equivalent
Izanami is kind of close to Milton's devilm.
Enma also works for the non-Milton fanfic Devil.
>>282003344
Not really. Hades ruled the dead, but despite that had almost nothing in common with the devil. He was also arguably one of the most nice Greek divinities.

Something about this series feels pretty unique amongst Ito's work, which is funny since it's a devil possession story up against the fishpocalypse and an evil shape
Done. So, most of what I'm getting from these stories is that fetishes are evil.

Your thinking about the terms of the contract, this is about how you finalize the deal. Think of it like a signature, except the pen is your tongue and the dotted line is the devil's asshole.

There are some
Black Paradox team seem to be good, it has characters who became supernatural upon entering paradise and want to save the world (I could be wrong).
There's also that Shinto priest who exorcised a ghost
>>282022403
I'm pretty sure Black paradox are all on board with hastening humanities ruin without warning anybody because it amuses them on they're not gonna have to deal with it.
>>282022403
I don't know if I would count humanity wrecking their own afterlives hopeful
The Black Paradox team just keeps helping the doctor harvest more paradonite while protecting their personal soulstones
>>282022403
Even Remina and friends might somehow survive the Hellstar and in Village of the Sirens having faith in God gave real protection against the demons and the MC and cool girl survived.

You're cocky now but soon enough a pure-hearted and virtuous Japanese diplomat dedicated to the national interest will appear to put you in your place.
>>282016139
Chizumi maybe. She's still just an impressionable child following her brother everywhere. Yuuma, well, that'll take a lot more work, but if there's anyone we can put our hope in, it's Ryusuke.

I think it's telling how good Rasputin was that nobody made the >That hack ended it at just the right time so I could imagine if Japan got the northern territories
joke.

It's a filthy camper.
The legs let it conserve energy by standing still instead of swimming in place.
Which is a good thing when food is hard to come by in the deep sea.
Done. To be honest, being kept in a bottle for all eternity might be an even worse fate than being slurped by Chizumi.
Did something good happen today?

He makes pretty disturbing stories. Usually innocents don't get harmed so regularly even in horror stories, but the things he writes has so many cruel tragedies. It isn't even satisfying. The way it happens is so mundane.
>>282041339 >The way it happens is so mundane
That's what makes it horrific. You do nothing wrong, and one day you're life is ruined or ended in inhumanly horrible fashion for reasons you can't even conceive of
>>282041406 >pulls this move and stops the deadly apology in its tracks
Saying 'sorry' doesn't get you out of a guilty verdict. Sorry devil-worshippers!
>>282041313
To be fair, they don't know they're in a horror manga: as far as they're aware, it's just an ordinary life and their kid has come up with some weird story about something completely impossible. It would be a perfectly rational way to act IRL, and honestly that just makes it even more dreadful to read.
>>282041312
I'm sorry anon. I'm really truly very sorry that this manga is so retarded. Please find it in your heart to forgive me, and also sign this deposition admitting your guilt in conspiring to defraud the Japanese government.
This chapter really makes me wonder what's going on inside Yuuma's brain
One of the previous chapters shows that he can see the devil when he's praising its beauty, but here he acts like he genuinely believes the bad things are Chizumi's fault
I don't know if he tricked himself into genuinely believing that or he's just a pathological liar
>>282041608
I think he's just completely and utterly gone, whatever human used to be in that brain is so badly corroded by his devil-ecstasy he's just kind of ambling about worshipping it and barely conscious of the world he's reacting to
>>282043056 >spends the entire manga defending his absolute innocence >three-quarters of the way through casually mentions the international money-laundering scheme he did within his government department he was part of for years
What a man he is
>>282041608
Yuuma has always been a pathological liar, from when he told his family's origin story that Chizumi is the cause of everything in the first story. It's just an extension of that narrative. >>282041915
Chizumi hasn't harmed a single person though. The worst she's done is spook that girl into getting hit by a truck.
>>282043164
He's the team's coffee boy. Can't go around hunting unspeakable eldritch demons without a nice cuppa in the morning (Shuichi doesn't have any because the swirls in the coffee look too much like a spiral).
>>281995542
He might offer some realty to them, but I always got the impression that the Dissolving Classroom Devil is a lot more 'cosmic' than those demons so I feel he wouldn't venerate them nearly as much as he does it.
>>282047672
Chizumi may not have harmed anyone directly, but she also hasn't shown any sympathy towards her brother's victims. She enjoys scaring people and isn't above tricking them into feeling bad for her. She also harassed her crush despite knowing that he didn't want it and that Yuuma would kill his parents, and she didn't feel bad about kidnapping him either. She's still by the far the more harmless sibling and a child so you can only blame her so much, but she is at least amoral if not evil.
>>282040908
I like this page a lot, because it reveals Yuuma's true nature. Despite constantly apologizing all the time, he's really just an evil piece of shit that doesn't take responsibility for his own actions, and really just projects onto others for his own bullshit to hurt people.
>>282041311
Kind of an interesting chapter after seeing Weapons. A kid having to deal with their parents going through serious horror movie shit and then also they never recover even though he "saved" them is a fairly under explored premise. Probably because it's rare to see kid heroes in non-kid horror, which means when they do run into stuff that's all fixed by the end of the story.
