Then when Frieren transforms, her hair becomes blacks, horns grow on her head, fangs in her mouth. Also she gains a devil tail and also wings.

It's explicitly stated that demons don't raise their young which is somewhat weird considering the women have breasts - do they raise them to weaning age and discard them or are they, along with their generally humanlike appearance the result of evolution making them look more sympathetic and less likely to be killed?

Jokes aside, I’m not very fond of the current storyline.
In most shonen manga, having humans fight among themselves while an external threat like the demons still exists usually makes for a pretty dull plot, and no one is really looking for that in Frieren.
On top of that, it feels a bit strange that the Empire, despite having such powerful combat squads at its disposal, was still struggling against the demons.

You're talking as if the demon onslaught was equally distributed when in fact the empire probably took the bulk of it as they are in relative close vecinity to the demons.
