Cyborg Soldier is the best Cyborg 009 adaptation and even an improvement upon the manga in a few areas.
As a kid, I didn't like this show, because the cyborgs after the ninth one were consistently portrayed as stronger than the protagonist, and my child brain, who mentally attached itself to the PoV character, wanted the hero to be the strongest.

did we watch the same show? literally every episode was like
>the team shows up to fight an enemy
>they're doing okay for a moment but then they start getting their asses kicked
>009 activates gotta go fast mode and defeats the enemy singlehandedly
