I'm no professional, but here's how I do it (being a lazy person):
In general, writing/art in general is easy to procrastinate or get burnt out on, so the best thing you can do is to make writing as convenient for yourself as possible. Practice is also key, so if you have an idea, write as much as you can about that idea instead of just letting it swirl around in your head unwritten. It doesn't have to be perfect, you can revise it later once you get a more complete view of the story.
I got my start by writing extremely short fics that encompassed only a single scene. Do that over and over again and eventually you'll be able to write longer things.
Above all, just don't be afraid to try stuff. It's better to mess it up than to not do anything.
