I remember this, because of how stupid the definition is. The important parts are solid and ordered, natural, and with a specific chemical formula.
Most metal elements in nature are in the form of ores, so they are minerals. If you turn them into metals, they are artificial, so not natural anymore. The few metals that exist in nature are classified as "native element minerals", so gold and so on are minerals.
