The real reason to wrap it up will become apparent in a dozen more cases or so. People go on about the Clark Kenting Conan does, or the constant reuse of potassium cyanide. But the biggest problem to me is the rote way it devolves into writing cliches after awhile. Aside from overly complicated murder/alibi contraptions something that it originally made fun of in an upcoming case before almost every case devolving into convoluted string set ups, cases will begin to repeat lines again and again and again.
Takes a drink for every time:
>the battery in Conan's radar glasses runs out
>the criminal discovers they're detectives and then commits their premeditated murder anyway, even once the Gosho stops giving time based excuses for it and it would've been trivial for them to do it later
>Conan asks a nameless background character "hey, what about..." and whispers the important part in their ear
>Conan says "that thing they said"
>everyone says "it's a locked room murder!"
It's still very fun, don't get me wrong, but it's kind of silly how regimented it gets in a way it wasn't until you hit the 200's or so in chapters.
