With only three episodes left I have to say as someone who knew nothing about Anne, I am glad I picked this show up. I don't watch slice of life but the serious storyline dragged me in. The OST is superb, and the characters are charming. Going from kid Anne to adult Anne was great too. I am glad I watched this. Probably my AOTY or very close to it depending on how it ends

I read a few chapters of the first book up to where I'd assume an episode 3 would end before deciding to give the new adaptation a shot cause I was curious how the Japanese visualized the story only to see they immediately cover everything I've read in the 1st episode. Like holy fuck I had no idea the adaptation would be this fast, or how girthy the first book must be to feel that rushed when given 11 episodes.
