sato is a selfish, ungrateful piece of shit. everyone around him tries so hard for his sake and he pushes them away every single time without fail. in the end everyone leaves him behind and they're all the better for it, except for misaki who is so mentally fucked that she isn't able to. there's even that scene on suicide island where he raises his fist at her and she starts crying and he's like "man that was crazy anyway lets talk about MY feelings" and he never connects the dots on the most obvious symptom of abuse until the very last episode. you can't say this is a case of "oh youre not SUPPOSED to like him" because he isn't punished for his actions whatsoever. sato is like shinji but instead of having to deal with being mistreated and patronized by everyone around him ON TOP OF having to save the world, sato is a grown ass man with no real hardships who is surrounded by people who love and care about him and still does fucking nothing until he's literally forced to by threat of starvation. the worst thing that happens to sato is that his allowance is cut in half, and that's because his dad is in the hospital. he doesn't give a shit about this fact and it's never mentioned again. also, how the fuck does sato not know what internet porn is? or the most basic anime tropes possible? what the fuck did this guy do since graduating high school? everyone here is a bit of a shut-in and we all have knowledge and interests that stemmed from that. did he just stare at a fucking wall the whole time? sato is a shitty character who deserved to rot but didn't because everyone he meets is a much better person than him. FUCK sato and FUCK this show, i need to go watch something good now like Lain
