Satsuki doesn't like Mai romantically. She just sees her as someone she wants to surpass. The only reason she's showing interesting in love now is because Mai found something great that she doesn't have & even now she's debating if love really is all that great. To put it simply, Mai is someone who she can't stand losing to.

I think in volume 5 Satsuki's mom at first assumes that Satsuki is studying romance because she has a crush on Mai, stating that she's always tries her hardest when competing with Mai. Renako however disagrees with that assumption because she's known Satsuki long enough to know that her feelings are not that simple. She also doesn't believe Satsuki would ask her out if Mai was the one she had a crush on.
One of Satsuki biggest frustrations is that Mai doesn't understand her feelings because of how simple minded & straightforward she is. In a way, her relationship with Renako is the one she was seeking from Mai, as Renako is one the only person who understands that her feelings are deep & complex. This is the reason why Renako is the person who wants & knows will give her the answer regarding the value of love.

It's not smelly. How dare you. Satsuki is a very clean girl. Her favourite way to pass the time is soaking in the bathtub while reading books! She probably even shlicks in there, since they are erotic books, so she couldn't be more clean if she tried.
The last picture is normally the characters important to the volume. I suspect it could be between Renako, Lucie, Satsuki or Renee. Though we haven't had a picture of the latter.

Lucie's bathtub isn't that big or luxurious. Renako & Youko had a hard time fitting in it together.
I'm up to date with the manga and I feel Renako has more chemistry with Satsuki and Kaho than her so-called girlfriends. She's always so anxious around Mai and Ajisai.
