I do! As a matter of fact I'm watching less anime than I'd like to ever since graduating from being a hikkiNEET. Work life is drab and depressing, but Japanese cartoons are fun and one of the few rays of sunshine to brighten my mood during any given week! I probabIy appreciate anime more than I used to, now that I know the toil of the bottom rung salarymen to whom they were made to appeal in the first place.

To the point where it is breaking my brain at how popular it is. I wasn't able to watch as much anime in the old days as I'd like. My parents disapproval and not having a computer in 2007-mid 2009 made me unable to watch fansubbed stuff. I was here for Haruhi though in 2006. Then in 2012 my mental illness hit full stride.

Now i'm so insecure about anime. My mental state is much better. My shitty grandmother on my dads side who abused my mom died and I was able to get an inheritance from her insuring I'd never have to work again. That got rid of 70 percent of my mental problems. Now I watch 10-11 episodes a day and study Japanese. But I hate how popular anime is today. I wish i were a better fan in the 2000s.

I don't like watching anime anymore. I'll go back and rewatch some of the older stuff but rarely go out of my way to watch something new. A lot of stuff that airs doesn't make me feel like i'm the target demographic anymore. Too many flashing lights, censorship, localization, weird trends, shorter series etc. I know anime is primarily an ad for the source material, but a lot of adaptations are so far from the original experience that I stopped bothering with anime entirely and just go straight to the source material, and don't bother with all of the external bullshit. I still read manga, vn's and doujinshi daily.

No, don't get a job unless you have to. Work sucks and you're just cattle for the rich and powerful. If I could sustain NEETdom, I'd go back to it in a heartbeat. I don't feel invested in this society at all and try to reduce work hours as much as I can get away with. You don't need a job, only a positive attitude! Enjoy the fact that you don't have to work while so many others do. Maybe use your free time for some other hobbies to prevent oversaturation. I think that's probably sufficient.
