And in the end, Sukuna lost. You could argue that Sukuna was still the strongest individual while Yuji had to jump through a bunch of hoops and sacrifices, but that's also an extension of their ideals. Since Sukuna's way of living prevents him from gathering allies or doing the other things Yuji did.
And in the end, Sukuna died. You could nitpick all you want about it, but that's the fact at the end of the day. And that means that his belief was overcome by Yuji's ideals. And since now that he knows that it's incorrect, it's why he muses that next time, he'll try something else instead.

From a technical standpoint, his final render has always been pretty rough so that's where the chicken scratch thing comes from. But if you can look past that you can tell he's got pretty good fundamentals, especially with portraying 3d volumes in movement. His paneling is also pretty fun to read.
