It's the same shit with updated technology. There is no difference between using that pose doll and posting a 3D mannequin on a computer to reference for poses. There's also no difference between using Googled photos for reference as opposed to a photo in an encyclopedia. People really think references (or even tracing, which I guess is more what OP is about) for drawing are a recent thing. It's absurd.
