You have to be mentally impaired to watch the anime. It still turns one single page into a 2 minute slog scene every single episode

Today's episode made Luffy look like a literally evil, sociopathic asshole who dodges Saturn's attack while leaving Vegapunk behind and who rather plays around for minutes instead of saving Vegapunk

It also made Sanji look weaker and more retarded than he is again, barely capable of a light jog while carrying Vegapunk despite supposedly being all about leg power and able to fly

Somehow the animation quality is awful again too and they resort to cheap CGI every episode. But almsot the worst contender is the music. Whoever is in charge of it has no idea what he's doing, it almost never fits anymore and they overuse the worst tracks

This one page was turned into 2-5 minutes or something where literally every character looks significantly more retarded

i am 30 and i remember watching this shit as a teenager when it came on toonami. Almost nothing has occured since i just skipped to the end of the anime.
>luffy still hasnt found one piece, hes got some new powers, each episode is a flashback, a different character and details on them or just literally nothing occuring.

I like the fight scenes but man this story goes nowhere. I cant imagine being dedicated to this

Anime peaked around Alabasta-Water Seven. The old movies also look way better than the anime today.

No it's obviously not, in the manga it looks like everything happens very fast and almost simultaneously with an intended sense of chaos while in the anime they are taking a million years for everything. This is what anime adaptations do for decades now so not sure why you need a meta discussion about this

I used to watch when I first got into anime around 2006-7. Now half of the world watches it, all my normie friends and co-workers feel "soo nerdyyy" cause they have a Luffy pfp. Im glad for Oda, its an entertaining media piece, but I lost all interest long ago and getting up to speed now is a timesink much better spent on other stuff. Once Pice is and will be animation history, but there are still a shitton of great (and yes, better) anime to watch.

I ask myself the same question. I doubt that the average One Piece anime watcher is a bigger fan than I am. I watched it from 2012 until the end of the Oden flashback and I knew the anime was bad since pretty much Punk Hazard, but I kept watching it weekly because I just liked the characters and the story too much. However, at one point, I realized that it didn't make sense to keep watching such a flawed product which made me more miserable than happy and would never be as solid as any other shonen adaptation, so I decided to stick to the manga. I hate Toei with all my being and wish One Piece had been adapted by any other studio.

Don't bother, anon, some people just don't have the judgment to discern good from bad. It's kinda crazy to me because even though I followed the One Piece anime for like 10 years, I always knew how bad it was, but many people genuinely believe it's good even though it's objectively bad in so many ways. They mistake their appreciation for the characters and stories with the quality of the production.

The anime is for children who are too dumb to read. It was never intended to be consumed by adults (or even teenagers) on a weekly basis.
Maybe some people will catch an episode if it's on and be like "Oh, I remember that from the manga. Cool."
But if you're capable of reading, you were never intended to consume the anime exclusively.

Thats whats he doing in the manga luffy can turn into a giant and squish jaygarcia but he didnt why? Because awakened zoans override it's user personality, luffy wil prioritize having fun over winning a fight because nika is the god of fun, luffy will even get hit on purpose because its funny. Stop reading with your eyes closed, stop selfinserting, stop powerscaling, etc
