Apparently Key explained some symbolic stuff in the fan book? I totally missed it in the later CGs, I was speedreading so that’s on me. Hopefully, I can catch it in the anime version

You mean the main heroine that got her route for last and wasn't even a focus early on in the anime? This is kind of my point. Ao posters were shitting on Kamone about the time I left these threads, they probably shitted on Mugyu, too. They basically don't like the story, they just like Ao. And the umilewders never really cared either, they just want to lewd a loli. What discussion is there to miss in these threads? It's somehow worse than /vn/.
I can't fucking believe Tsumugi's and Shiroha's route are the best adapted ones.
Tsumugi's gets rid of all the fluff(heh) and would be the best if they didn't erase Kamome's existence in it. She's literally the 4th person in the Tsumugi/Shizuku/Hairi group.
Shiroha's route is super basic that it's hard to fuck it up. You're suppose to play it first after all.
Kamome's route got rid of the fun parts of it and Ao's just rushed.
Alka's alright but they cut the other heroines screentime which makes it average. It still hits your heart with the ending though.

But the best parts of Alka are the interactions between Shiroha, Hairi, and Umi
Missing out on stuff like Hairi asking the various heroines to be a mother isn't ideal, but those were always less important than main trio stuff

The other heroines are suppose to help Hairi and Shiroha give Umi the Summer she wanted.
The finding a mother part is just the 1st part of it.
Ao gets her butterfly catching teaching scene cut while Kamome only gets her storybook scene. Kamome was the one who found Shiroha when she ran away too.
They also cut the comedy scenes about Ao and Kamome being Hairi's mistresses.. This shows that Umi remembers the old routes.

How did this anime do this? It started out so mediocre and now it's such a masterpiece. Every episode is just better. My top 10 anime and it's not even over yet. I can't wait for the next episodes.

Honestly, cutting the other heroines' screen time made Alka better, imo. I'm kind of angry at how they made the other heroines feel like just side characters in the VN, even though one of them is actually kind of a guru when it comes to the shichiechou. I mean, Ao even realized what was happening during Nomiki's route

Speaking of Hairi, it’s actually in Alka, but it’s kind of a spoiler in Pockets
Hairi just doesn't want to trigger Umi's powers. He's basically following what Kobato was doing, just playing it safe, since whenever he communicates with her, she brings up her mom. The whole incident happened because he slipped up. ShiroHAG also has another plan, though

All I remember is she left Shiroha because she sense or seen Umi's butterfly/future and telling Kyouko that if Hairi and Umi came to the house, she should let them have fun instead of doing the shed work. Which is why when Hairi came alone, he started working in the shed instead of playing around like normal. It makes Shiroha's mom psychotic since without her mother, Shiroha gained her powers which caused Umi to travel back and suffer even more.

Shiroha's voice sounded digitally altered this episode, maybe they were trying to pitch shift it a little and to remove any lower tones to keep it sounding like that of a soft spoken little girl.
