huh, Akane finally got knocked off of her pedestal? I mean, I seem to vaguely recall that happening before, but 'vaguely' is a keyword there
>>282138450
Ouka got a lot more focus and as someone else said a few threads back Akane got sidelined in her own last two arcs and is in a really weird place as a character.
>>282138515
me too, it's not an amazing series but it is enjoyable and part of these threads week after week has gotten me attached to it.
I've also been on Seo's wild ride since Kimi no iru Machi, and I've no idea if he has anything planned after this, so it'd feel like the end of the era if he doesn't.
>>282138268
I want some ridiculous ending where they just beat him to death or something and then accept the jail time since they're old and are going to die soon anyway
>>282138869
I'm sure he'll do another series after this. I'm also expecting it to have the most melodrama he's ever written to make up for ~5 years of a normal romcom
>>282139282
one old theory I had/hoped for was that the Black Saints had the same grandmas as the main group, and this were their cousins.
I think I came up with it because the plotline that introduced the grandmas segued into the Black Saints first appearance.
It might also explain their resemblance
>>282137768
huh, given that the anime (almost certainly) isn't getting another season, does that mean Ouka's ending there is that she just buggered off to France and never came back?
>>282140114 >hopefully we all end up together in another manga
it's weird, I enjoy the threads and quite like the people in them, but I can't really say I noticed any distinct personalities here apart from the Ami-schizo
>>282140638
I read half of Suzuka, but I missed the threads for it.
It was sort of interesting catching some of the leftover feelings and opinions about it in the Kimi Machi threads, though https://archived.moe/a/thread/12894895
>>282140131 >Don't know enough about Nisekoi to see how it's relevant though
Gorilla won the last poll right after all the onodoormaturds and marikeks left the series. Ironically, it was the most fair poll. The other ones had Onodoormat and Marikek winning simply bc of one autistic fan mass voting.

Not at all Tuesday has a lot of stuff come out and I will be stuck faceing the harsh reality of the world when I have to change things like this.
it's kind of interesting seeing the difference in attitude to GCT now compared to when it started, where Seo's previous works cast a bit of a cloud over it https://desuarchive.org/a/thread/216613656
>>282142019
Well Seo definitely did not have a great reputation prior to this manga, I think most people were wary. Same thing with the guy who wrote Akame ga Kill, I think most people were wary of his new manga Mato Seihei because of AgK,
Those early popularity polls don't surprise me, except that maybe Ami being that high. I guess she wasn't memified yet. Ouka was prickly right out of the gate so not surprising she was 5th
>>282143788 >Seeing this result will make her victory that much sweeter to see.
Seo's days in Kodansha will be over if he dares to subvert popularity polls.
>>282137809
you know, I'm a little surprised there weren't any recurring customer characters.
Given that it's a cafe, you'd think there'd be more familiar faces
>>282144616
Itβs never enough for some people there are people like Fuwa who just sit around angry that people arenβt suffering for what they did to them enough.
>>282138268
Unless they're going Summer Wars' grandma I won't hold my breath with their 'this time is our time' thing. That said, kino potential is here.
>>282137768
NOOOOO, I guess this arc will end sooner than I thought. Makes sense since the Grandmothers will save the day, and Hayato will stay a bum. I guess to not expect much romance with the girl who Hayato picks? I wonder if all the girls will get good closure.
>>282138370
Damn, Ouka got first. I'm happy cause she's my favorite, but I don't think she has as much stride like when she came back from France and got first place. Riho in 4th place is crazy, she deserves higher. Shiragiku's hotness got her that 3rd place.
>>282139252 >At least that would make Hayato's pain worth it.
What do you mean? His pain of loosing his land and businesses? I guess she can understand and heal his pain the best being a fellow business owner. It also means Hayato's not a liar, and won't pick any of the original 5 like he declared. It wasn't all meaningless, and he has a Youtuber wife to take care of him.
>>282139993
No, he's cried before. He cried in Chapter 1 and he cried during Obon when all the girls left him to visit their families, while he was hungry like a baby. Probably cried some other times too.
>>282147381
Hayato cured Ami's grandma by shouting at her like his Grandpa would do. We saw Kiku's grandma in chapter 104, when they visited her parent's house and we learned Shiragiku was Hayato's first love.
So the grandmas will undo everything Fuwa did, get his cafe back, rescue him from the bribe allegations and get him his damn filters back. Hayato will have to pick all 5 girls as thanks for their help.
>>282138370
Feels like Ouka's showing too much of her bare ass and are Ami's panties visible? She's wearing blue panties? Wait a minute, Hayato likes ass and Ouka flaunting it means she will win.
>>282148620
More depressive Hayato, how the girls and Hayato would deal with their lives without the cafe. As it stands, the Grandmas will prevent all that. They might have to leave the house temporally, but it's not as big of a deal with the safety net of the grandmas. I figured at least another volume. Also, show the couple, the timeskip and them having a kid isn't enough to accept that they are a loving couple.
>>282138515
I'm actually not that upset. It's a comfy but mild series without much strong emotion and romance behind it. It's now at the endgame and I really don't care who win. Overall positive time but without any long-lasting attachment
Iβll miss the way Seo writes women. He still has them act somewhat childish despite being adults which is gives it a realistic edge and makes them likable
>>282148778 > Also, show the couple, the timeskip and them having a kid isn't enough to accept that they are a loving couple
Well, for the series run it was obvious the romance angle and in general romantic moments is rather mild or meh, it's not an area of Cafee that is strong. That is why I'm not that invested in who will Hayato's bowl and not expect any proper post-confession content, it's not a series for this.
>>282144498
That's a good point. The regulars aren't given any prominence. Could even have more Detective Haytato with the customers asking him about their missing things and such.
>>282144130 >Chapter Title: Flashing Before One's Eyes
What's flashing before one's eyes? Is someone dying? Or is it just his memories of the cafe flashing before his eyes?
>>282137844 >"No matter how much I thought I was doing the right thing... I was powerless to do anything..."
What right thing did he think he was doing? He cared more about being in the right, then actually changing anything?
>>282152723
All the girls said no hard feelings and would want to be invited to the winner's wedding. I imagine the last chapter will be one set in the future when the daughter is middle school aged. So the second to last chapter will be Hayato's wedding? So 5 chapters to round out this arc and 1 chapter for closure and the other's dreams?
>>282138370 >>282146865
yeah, I really don't get Kiku and Riho's placements, Kiku's honestly been the weakest character of the 5 for most of this while Riho's had a lot of solid arcs
>>282153822
Riho's arcs usually feel more serious than the rest so they can be a bit off putting for people looking for a lighthearted comedy, it's like Seo wants to go full drama with her but it's barely managing to hold back
>>282138370
my favorite girl is one of the black saints so I can't even get invested in the popularity contest. introducing a second group of girls after confirming that the winner was one of the first 5 has to be a blunder.
>>282137727 >>282137768
I felt I would've heard about this sooner, I used to be pretty regular in the GCT discord but it's age-restricted now and I didn't feel like going through discord's verification process
>>282143375 >You know, I thought we'd at least get Ami realizing she's in love with Hayato before the final arc began
She already confessed, and sheβs the only one Hayato didnβt reject, both her confession and her proposal. And sheβs the only one he made a future promise with. Are people reading with something other than their eyes?I donβt know,it feels like a βto nice/Tunisβ thing.
>>282138370 >>282143788 >Who in their right mind isnβt voting for Ami in these polls?? Seeing this result will make her victory that much sweeter to see
As long as she holds the first place in the MCβs heart, thatβs what truly matters.
>>282155343
I've heard some sites like youtube and maybe discord have a function that tries to guess your age from your activity or something. Maybe that thing decided you were of age and that I wasn't?
>>282156331
That's just how it goes, people's standards have developed enough and far more entertainment is available than back in those days, that longer-running manga/anime are generally a thing of the past now. One piece for example would almost certainly never succeed in current day and even if it did, it would probably only go to 300 chapters max.
>>282138268 >Hayato-kun, we've discovered an obscure legal loophole to save the cafe. >But in order for it to work, you literally need to become our grandson >ALL of our grandsons >Yes, that means you need to marry all 5 of our grand daughters, it's the only way.
>>282138370
I can't be the only one who finds Oukas sudden rise to the top of the last few polls suspicious can I?
Unless the anime brought in a ton of new fans that picked up the manga and almost all gravitated towards Ouka it seems odd that she could suddenly start consistently surpassing Akane like this.
>>282161283
No poll numbers because the difference is too abysmal, or the poll had very little count of votes. >>282138370
Also, that's not a pantyshot on Ami. That blueish color behind her butt cheeks is the inner side of the skirt. The color is similar to Ouka's skirt to the right of her butt.
>>282163244 >cool beauty but scared and immature
Interesting. Were they all meant to have two contrasting archetypes? I can see some:
Ami: strong but childish
Ouka: Tsun but displays her love for the other girls
Kiku: reserved but also a perv
Riho: hot but cute
>>282162361 >That blueish color behind her butt cheeks is the inner side of the skirt. The color is similar to Ouka's skirt to the right of her butt.
Why is the inner side of the skirt a different color? Seems unnecessary, unless it's see through?
>>282164132
I think Riho's contrast might be her having a sort of bratty/teasing personality while looking the youngest, but being the oldest and surprisingly concerned/involved with keep the cafe afloat
>>282164183
I'd guess it's just for contrast. The skirts are already black so they need another color.
Here the inside of Ami's skirt is white >>282140638
>>282165317
Akane used to be my favorite in the beginning, but then she kept piling up loser moves. She's always trying to kiss him and be forceful, where Hayato just looks mildly annoyed. The most assertive girl never wins.
>>282137768 >>282138370
What? The manga's ending without Ami getting a kiss? She was kept in the little sister/gag character zone? If Seo turned her from a gag character to a serious character who was more interested in romance Ami would be guaranteed top 3, even top 2. He even teased in the earlier parts of the manga she was actually serious and just playing dumb. The darkhorse should fight, not rest on solid moments here and there when given the chance to shine.
>>282167337
Still, from WSM romcoms Amagami, Cuckoo and Cafe really haven't got significant fan engagement even with anime. Though I wouldn't say their anime adaptation had been high-caliber to put it on spotlight. In the end only Kanokari has significant engagement from current WSM romcoms. Maybe Mayonaka has potential but when it's adaptation airs, though it also dead in fanart
>>282138370 >>282155086 >According to /a/ Ami will win >According to Seo he was going to make the winner win at least one poll or something >Ami was been at the bottom for the last 4 polls
If Ami truly does win then why is Seo(and Ami) such a failure? What went wrong? Like at least Yotsuba was a consistent number three.
