The reason behind why it was flopping is well explained and fits the logic of the world just fine.

Eh, they aren't gonna get far in 12 eps, so everyone is going to be disappointed. Not an isekai, it's just generic fantasy.

It's basically revenge slop, MC is justified proper in this one, but essentially has an army of brown nosers, only one is shown to talk shit so they can show the MC whooping his ass (so you can see his power level). He's also a bit of a sis-con, and confirmed herbivore - tons of brown nosing women and he's never gotten his taint licked. It's basically just the edge from Arifureta but none of the good bits.

Because they are obsessed with the idea of wanting their own preferred fiction to be considered as "highly cultured and valued recreation-time" as opposed to "escapist self-insert wishful-fulfillment fast-food-among-literature trash".
But the reality? All fiction is ultimately just a time-waster. Even something like "having a message" doesn't necessarily make it more worthwhile. If the author tries to force a specific ideology/world-view/propaganda on the audience (which is more often the case than you'd imagine) then having no message is actually better.
The isekai-haters refuse to believe that, deny that reality, and use isekai as an easy target to designate as an example of "lesser fiction" purely to elevate their own so-called "greater fiction" that's they try really hard to frame as "socially acceptable to consume and a very good use of one's free time".

TL;DR: isekai-hate is pure cope and an escape from reality itself. Also a sign of lack of self-confidence.
