Watching One Piece episodes at 1.5 or 2x speed sounds strange to me. I know you're only doing it when you find an episode boring but that's a bad habit to do that with shows or movies, which have a deliberate pace. If you want faster paced the manga is a much quicker and better way to get through One Piece, and you can watch the anime later if you want. Either way hope you enjoy it.

It's mostly cause it starts very slow - there are good bits in those episodes and I am paying attention to those, it's just that on the whole a lot of it is strange. I get that the usopp pirates thing is that Usopp is playing pretend and showing off how much he does actually care about people, he's not just a lying little twat etc but it's still. I wouldn't say melodramatic, but it does linger a bit. I wouldn't recommend it either, to be clear. for the last few episodes of Arlong Park I didn't touch the speed at all, so I think it's found a decent (one)pace.

Either way, it's fun. I got shown Episode of skypiea? a while back cause I was asking about Enel and he's cool but I got told and shown after he fucks off to the moon he gets an army of molemen and that's when I realised I had to check it out. I am not looking forward to Haki. Also I like buggy, still. Live Action is better? maybe, but he's also just in it more so that helps. Can't wait to see more of him.

Yeah and that's the problem, the character might have half a dozen pages of dialog because they're administering their faction in some way, they have a personal beef with some other entity in the opposing faction, some time is shown how this started/why, now fight. A single page after all that work is blueballs, but it's also blueballs if it's a multi chapter fight of two guys who aren't part of the 'group that actual did the thing and saved the world'. It's why when ever Luffy is taken out into one of his refactory periods he's passed around by some randos to show they helped, but on yet larger scales it can get tiresome.

CoOs been a problem forever. Base level in skypeia Enel and his mooks could 'detect life', to varying degrees. Boa sisters had precog, so too did sentomaru. At the start of FI, IIRC sanji detected where some of the crew was, luffy could dodge lazers. It's never used to it's fullest.

Kaido's whole shtick is he is a failure that surrounds himself with other failures. He couldn't be Joyboy, has been captured numerous times and failed to kill himself over and over again. Most of his crew consists of people that are either failures/losers to begin with or those that he personally defeated and surrendered to him to avoid death.
