I'll never rate it perfectly over how much of a flop the empire's world building surrounding its feudal productive forces are. I don't give a fuck if it's a "minor detail," world building in stories of this scale are always important.

The story is the same as it is in the OVAs, for the most part. Aside from a few mostly minor changes and one major one, the OVAs are very close to the original novels.
The official translation is decent to below average, depending on the volume, with some MTL tier mistakes here and there. It could definitely be better, but I doubt it'll ever get a proper translation. At least not any time soon.
watching new thesis S3 right now and the episode with the dog is pretty cute, overall it is not a bad adaptation but god damn some of the redesigns are terrible the worst being Reuenthal
