Garp could've taken Ace, Luffy and Sabo to Marineford and raised them as marines, no one would bat an eye. All Garp had to do is not hit them all the time, give them rice crackers, train them once in a while and maybe tell them one of this old marine stories. They were young and rowdy, but that would never stop Garp. He'd probably let Sengoku and Tsuru do all the actual parenting and they wouldn't mind. Did he like abusing them that much? Or did he just not care?

The only one whose mind was set was Luffy and that was because of Shanks, and to be fair to Garp, like Dragon, Luffy would probably leave the Marines even if he joined, Luffy wanted to change the world. All Ace needed was a family, and if Sabo left before the burning, he probably would have no reason to side with the Revs, like Ace he wanted a family too.
The problem with Garp's decision to just leave them in a island, is that it's something Luffy would do, but, unlike Luffy, he's not the protagonist so his decisions might backfire in a meaningful way. Oda does this a lot, with Garp, Ace and Kid (and probably some others that I'm not remembering right now), where they do something that Luffy would do, but they fail because of it.

The Mochi fruit I think is there, due to its status as a "Special" Paramecia that acts like a Logia, and would fit right in with OP Devil Fruits like the Paw and Azure Dragon fruits. The Kirin fruit could be there, along with Gunko's Arrow fruit maybe. I doubt the Love fruit is there since Hancock was randomly fed it as a slave decades later.

I always expected some biblical connections because of Kuma. Earlier in the story when he first appeared, it seemed so out of place in the OP world to have a character carrying around a bible despite no one mentioning Christianity(or something similar). Now that I'm caught up with the episodes, I see there's a strong inference that Nika is the Jesus figure. I know a lot are upset at the story, but I'm enjoying it so far. I just hope Oda doesn't make the ending really stupid.

Yeah they're really tame, but it makes sense for the most part. Usopp however does show attraction to women relatively often, but he's just not obsessed with them. Luffy I understand because his mind just works differently, although I think it's dumb how he showed zero reaction to seeing Hancock and Yamato naked as Oda has confirmed Luffy is interested in women. The odd one out that bothers me a bit is Zoro. Zoro has not ever shown any attraction towards a woman besides blushin at Kuina as a child. I find that kinda dumb and Zoro has honestly become too stoic.
