Kinta has been kind and courageous too. So has Jiji, Aira and Rin. The story treats them all like jokes and keeps sucking Okarun's dick. This is to be expected because this is Okarun's story. The issue is that DanDaDan has introduced many side characters most of which are more endearing/interesting than the MC and it has no way to actually justify Okarun being popular or having friends besides treating every other character like a joke.
Kinta was thrown out of a building, saved at the last moment by ESP powers that he didn't know existed and he didn't run away. He came back into the building and put his life on the line attacking the invisible monster despite having zero powers all because he realized that multiple people were needed to reveal Vamola's camouflage tech. He did that having absolutely nothing to win for it. He has admitted his own shortcomings which frankly aren't that big (jealousy, lack of talent, etc.) And tries to redeem himself by joining the DDD crew, yet the story treats him like a joke pervy character despite never being truly pervy.
Unlike Okarun, Kinta actually tries to reach out to others despite rejection. Okarun simply sits on his corner jerking it to UFO mags and he gets all the pussy for "being himself."
Aira may have a bad personality but she's always helped others when she's had to, even putting her life on the line, and never expected anything in return. Jiji is a genuinely good friend and an amazing guy all around. The entire crew is full of characters that are more interesting and endearing than the MC. DDD hasn't yet put effort on Okarun.
