Essentially Yukari and Kaede (girls from a different nearby school) saw HTT's first performance (where Mio flashed the audience) and got inspired to make their own band. Dragged Maho into it and from there slowly learn how to play their instruments with the help from their senpais and form a band with 2 more girls being Risa and Ranka joining them when Yukari and the other 2 got into their 2nd year of high school.
Shuffle takes place parallel to the original manga and it's more about the girls learning to play their instruments and become a band rather than them already having experience and immediately creating multiple songs and performances
The recent chapters have the girls slowly preparing for their upcoming 3rd battle of the bands against their senpais
It's different but also similar compared to the original manga, as well as a major improvement both pacing, story and art style
