I’ve been reading UBW, on the last day I believe, and it just kinda lost me after a point. I had a pretty high enjoyment of Tsukihime’s characters, but I’m just not quite feeling the same in Fate so far. There have been pretty good characters and moments, Lancer is great, but I don’t feel a particularly strong connection to any of them either. I like to think the ending of UBW and then HF will wrap it all up in a nice bow, but I’m afraid that won’t be the case.

The scene is fine in-story, since it's just him getting magic steroids and sucker punching her. What makes it retarded is the stupid stat screen bullshit that writes ten pages of "lore" about how this or that character has A-Rank Viscosity and S-Rank Plumpness that makes them immune to everything and able to see the future and able to rewrite the past at will and can move at light speed and blah blah blah that somehow never reflects how they are actually portrayed on-screen. Gilgamesh is the worst in this regard, who has an encyclopedia worth of pages about how unbeatable he is and all the bullshit he can do, but doesn't actually have those feats outside the dumb stat screen (and no "muh arrogance" doesn't explain like a 10th of it). The simple fact of the matter is that if it's not stated in dialogue, then it's not canon.
