Is this really true? As far as I understand from last episode strategy game characters have much better aoe but on one on one fights it's easy to get locked in annoying boss mechanics and lose, unless there's a huge difference in levels

The author's interpretation is that 4X games are a higher power level than RPGs because they're on a bigger scale. But you can spin it both ways, since RPG villains are typically a threat to nearby countries or the entire world. It's not really worth arguing about though since the gameplay of most RPGs don't work well with logical world-building.

I don't think there are any RPGs that can attack party members that are not currently in battle. Like in FF games you might have 8 characters, but only 4 in battle, and the biggest AOE is always going to be 4
So they can only kill people 4 at a time

It's pretty arbitrary because rules are whatever the author wants at the moment, but we haven't seen anybody being constrained by 4X rules. The RPG characters do get constrained by the no retreat rule though, but they don't even last long enough for us to see whether the 4 character rule was an actual rule or something they never got the chance to test out.. After all, Atou clearly doesn't kill everybody in a tile's range instantly with her tentacles.

I think it's a bit stupid that Hero characters are outperforming RPG bosses in a 1 on 1 fight, if I had to balance it out I'd say RPG has the strongest 1v1 and Strategy games should have the number advantage. The best comparison would actually be Total War Warhammer where Heroes can be duelists or mages or other things and you have to be careful about duelist heroes going after your mage hero because they will demolish the 1v1.

I just checked and Around 40 Online Shopper was that season, which was complete garbage and I couldn't continue after 3 episodes.
Liam's anime was also that season and it was also both poorly animated and awful, and probably worse than that one.
