What they choose to adapt and leave out gets more and more baffling every episode. Some bright spots here and there (that Mambo No. 5 bit was awesome and so was the beginning) but for the most part I just didn't really care for this one. Weakest so far by a landslide.

There were a lot of people saying the same thing while the manga was running. But anime adaptations tend to attract people who just want to shit on something. Though the anime does have plenty of problems imo so if someone is judging purely off the anime I can see them maybe not liking it as much. I haven't seen or read Nichijou though so I don't really have an opinion on this.

I think the general consensus is that it's an overall fantastic show with some of the best production value seen in years, but as an adaption of the source it plays quite loose with the rules and abridges way too much from the manga
As someone who only watched it, I can say it's great because I haven't been dissapointed by anything being cut or whatever, but I can understand that fans of the manga feel upset at their favorite chapters or volumes being so condensed down, even if the execution of the core of those parts are well done

This is where Wako shows off a little of her venomous side after being thoroughly disappointed. She's too lively and the roomba joke leading into the scene is just weird - you don't get the sense that she isn't acting because it's funny to her. She just understands the two perfectly. That's further highlighted by nothing being uttered by the editor or mangaka when she leans in to listen to the two in the manga. Rare miss in characterization for this adaptation.
