Does anyone know when these became a thing? The earliest commercial flight was in 1914, and obviously the plane was invented in 1903. Looking up private aircraft only returned results for private JETS, which isn't what I want. But based on this aircraft, the year must be ~1910. I just feel like any earlier is too close to the invention of the aircraft for the existence of private ones to be realistic.
Basically, I'm saying that Colin is too young to be drafted. He looks no older than 11 in this chapter, and by the time he turns 18 the war will be almost over
